Schede video marchiate Volari per XGI
XGI, produttore taiwanese di soluzioni video che lo scorso Settembre ha ufficialmente presentato le proprie GPU della famiglia Volari, ha annunciato con il seguente comunicato stampa la propria nuova gamma di schede video Volari Graphics Board Series.
L'obiettivo è quello di fornire schede video della famiglia Volari sia al canale retail, che ai system builder, parallelamente ai partner di XGI che stanno producendo schede video basate su GPU Volari. A onor del vero, molti partner taiwanesi hanno annunciato prodotti Volari, ma la diffusione di prodotti sul mercato è stata in questi mesi estremamente limitata, a motivo delle ridotte prestazioni velocistiche di queste soluzioni.
Interessante segnalare, comunque, come XGI intenda anche fornire soluzioni per il mercato mobile con il proprio nome; in particolare, XGI propone i chip Volari XP5m32 per il mercato dei notebook thin & light, mentre la soluzione Volari XP5m64 è destinata al mercato performances. Completa la gamma il chip Volari XP5, per il top della gamma mobile.

Volari V8, Volari V5, Volari V3XT, and Volari V3 offer the full breadth of performance from XGI. These products include high performance Volari graphics processors which target the enthusiast, high-end, mainstream and entry-level markets, respectively. VolariV8 and VolariV5 cover the high end users who require the 3D cinematic effect empowered by Microsoft Shader Model 2.0. These two products also have 4 and 8 sets of high performance pixel rendering pipelines for the maximum anti-aliasing images. The results of these technologies are better realism coloring, smoother curves, and more lively animations. Volari V3XT and Volari V3 are cost effective solutions for entry level clients.
In the mobile graphics space, XGI offers discrete and multi-chip-module (MCM) graphics processors that are all software compliant with the Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 specification.
