450 MHz di clock per le NV40 di Gainward

Gainward ha appena comunicato le nuove specifiche delle proprie schede video della famiglia GeForce 6800, basate su chip NV40. Gainward, come abitudine, ha scelto nomi particolarmente lunghi e complessi per i propri prodotti. La famiglia di schede NV40 si compone di 3 modelli, tutti operanti a specifiche superiori rispetto a quelle di default per le schede GeForce 6800 Ultra di NVIDIA (400 MHz per il chip video e 1,1 GHz per la memroia GDDR3).

• Gainward CoolFX PowerPack! TMUltra/2600 “Golden Sample": 256 Mbytes di memoria GDDR3 operante a 1,2 GHz di clock o superiore. Frequenza di clock del chip video di 450 MHz o superiore. Sistema di raffreddamento a liquido CoolFX Water Cooling.
• Gainward PowerPack! Extreme/2600 “Golden Sample”: 256 Mbytes di memoria GDDR3 operante a 1,2 GHz di clock. Frequenza di clock del chip video di 450 MHz. Sistema di raffreddamento con radiatore in rame.
• Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/2600 “Golden Sample”: 256 Mbytes di memoria GDDR3 operante a 1,2 GHz di clock. Frequenza di clock del chip video pari a 430 Mhz; sistema di raffreddamento potenziato rispetto a quello di default NVIDIA.

La nota dolente di queste soluzioni è il prezzo. La prima scheda, top della gamma Gainward, viene venduta ad un prezzo di 899€ all'utente finale. La soluzione PowerPack! Extreme/2600 “Golden Sample” viene venduta a 699€, mentre quella Gainward.

Per la soluzione CoolFX PowerPack! TMUltra/2600 “Golden Sample" si vocifera una frequenza di clock stabile per il chip video pari a 470 Mhz, anche se molto dipende dalla bontà del chip utilizzato e dall'efficacia del sistema di raffreddamento a liquido. Gainward certifica il prodotto per operare a 450 Mhz di clock, con la possibilità di salire ulteriormente di frequenza.

Ultra/2600 “Golden Sample”TM Gainward will be first to market with a GeForce 6800 Ultra product priced at € 899. First samples shipped to selected journalists on June 8, first retail products will start shipping to the channel on June 10.

In addition, Gainward is also proud to announce the Gainward PowerPack! Extreme/ 2600 “Golden Sample”TM featuring a hand selected “one out of thousand” GeForce 6800 Ultra chip running at 450 MHz plus carefully qualified 1.6ns DDR3 memory clocked at 1200 MHz. Gainward’s High-Performance/Wide-BandwidthTM hardware design in combination with NVIDIA’s latest driver enhancements is aiming at 20% better real-world performance than previously experienced and with upcoming enhancements with later driver releases.

The Gainward PowerPack! Extreme/2600 “Golden Sample”TM features the industry’s only “large dual-fan/pure-copper cooler”, Gainward’s so called “HighPerformance CopperCoolerTM”, introduced at COMPUTEX trade show in Taipei, resulting in a significantly lower operating temperature in connection with tremendous headroom for faster clock settings. In addition, and in order to avoid unnecessary noise levels, the fan-speed will be heat controlled from almost unnoticeable < 25 db up to powerful 4.500 RPM for industry leading over clocking headroom.

With nView Display Technology the Gainward PowerPack! Extreme/2600 “Golden Sample”TM also supports two monitors simultaneously with two independent 400 MHz RAMDACs for office applications, 3D gaming and professional applications such as CAD, DTP, animation, or video editing. The maximum supported resolution for both displays is 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz. Depending on the resolution the maximum refresh rate is up to 240 Hz. The integrated NTSC/PAL TV encoder supports resolutions up to 1024x768 without the need for panning with built-in Macrovision copy protection.

EXPERToolTM is Gainward’s performance tuning utility that allows the user to easily adjust the engine clock and the memory clock of any Gainward product from NVIDIA’s recommended default settings to even faster settings.
