Nuova scheda madre VIA EPIA MII-Series
Con il seguente comunicato stampa ufficiale VIA Technologies annuncia la nuova soluzione VIA EPIA MII1200 Mini-ITX, equipaggiata con processore VIA C3 1,2GHz, caratterizzato da una serie di funzionalità per la sicurezza e la criptatura di dati integrate direttamente on-chip. Le nuove schede della serie MII integrano anche slot Cardbus, che permette di utilizzare schedine wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g.

"Taipei, Taiwan, 29 April 2004 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced the VIA EPIA MII12000 Mini-ITX mainboard featuring the 1.2GHz VIA C3 processor that integrates the latest generation of the VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite for small form factor smart digital media devices in the home and small business markets.
The VIA EPIA MII12000 brings the VIA PadLock Advanced Encryption Engine (ACE) to the VIA Mini-ITX form factor for the first time, enabling high speed AES encryption and decryption of data at a sustained rate of 12.8 Gb/s with minimal work load on the processor. The highly efficient onboard VIA C3 processor operates at 1.2GHz, making it the highest performing VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboard on the market.
Maintaining the signature low profile module of the VIA EPIA MII-Series, the VIA EPIA MII12000 can connect to wireless networks by using best of breed 802.11a/802.11b/802.11g notebook wireless cards in the onboard CardBus slot and it also features a CompactFlash slot for easy transfer of photos from digital camera memory cards. Additional connectivity is provided through the onboard Firewire (IEEE1394) port that compliments the two USB2.0 ports on the I/O back panel, providing more options for high-speed data transfer between smart digital devices.
