Windows 10, nuova ondata di aggiornamenti cumulativi: ecco le novità

Puntuale come al solito Microsoft ha rilasciato le novità del Patch Tuesday di Marzo. La ricorrenza cade nel secondo martedì di ogni mese, quando il colosso rilascia gli aggiornamenti di sicurezza e di stabilità, detti anche "qualitativi" per tutte le piattaforme supportate. Non sono da attendersi come al solito novità sul piano delle feature, ma solo correzioni di vulnerabilità di sicurezza, ottimizzazioni "sotto la scocca" e miglioramenti nella stabilità. Per supportate si intendono ad oggi tutte le versioni di Windows 10 eccetto la 1511 (che non riceve aggiornamenti pubblici da Aprile 2018), Windows 7 e Windows 8.1.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update

L'ultima major release di Windows 10, 1809, raggiunge la build 17763.379 attraverso il pacchetto KB4489899 che può essere scaricato qui. Ecco le novità in lingua inglese, come da changelog:

• Addresses an issue in Microsoft HoloLens with tracking and device calibration that has affected some users. You may notice improvement 10-15 minutes after installing this update, but we recommend resetting the holograms for best results.
• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Addresses an issue that may degrade graphics and mouse performance with desktop gaming when playing certain games, such as Destiny 2, after installing KB4482887.
• Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Shell, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers, Windows Server, Windows Linux, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Wireless Networking, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows, and Windows Fundamentals.

In questa versione sono stati riscontrati alcuni problemi noti, come ad esempio con Internet Explorer 11 (problemi nell'autenticazione), e con alcuni dispositivi audio.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update

Chi ancora si trova con Windows 10 April 2018 Update, versione 1803, riceverà in queste ore il KB4489868, che porta la build alla 17134.648. Ecco le novità in lingua inglese:

• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Shell, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Wireless Networking, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Server, Windows Linux, Window Kernel, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Non sembrano esserci problemi noti per questa versione.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Chi ha ancora Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, versione 1709, riceverà il KB4489886, che porta la build alla 16299.1029. In questo caso le novità sono le seguenti:

• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Shell, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Linux, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Kernel, Windows Server, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine .

Neanche in questo caso è disponibile una lista di problemi noti.

Windows 10 Creators Update

Gli utenti delle SKU Enterprise ed Education della 1703 di Windows 10, ovvero il Creators Update, ricevono il KB4489871, che porta la build alla 15063.1689. Nessun aggiornamento è invece disponibile per gli utenti consumer di questa versione di Windows 10.

• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Addresses an issue that causes users to receive an erroneous return value of "0" when calling _isleadbyte_l().
• Security updates to Windows Shell, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Microsoft Edge, Windows Linux, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Server, Windows Kernel, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Nessun problema noto è presente in questo aggiornamento.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Ci sono novità anche per gli utenti di Windows 10 Anniversary Update, ma solo per chi usa le SKY Enterprise, Education e IoT Enterprise. Questa versione sarà supportata fino al prossimo aprile, anche per gli utenti LTSC. Il pacchetto KB4489882 porta la versione alla build 14393.2848. Ecco le novità:

• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Addresses an issue that, in some cases, causes Windows Server to stop working and restart when hosting multiple terminal server sessions and a user logs off. The faulting driver is win32kbase.sys.
• Addresses an issue that causes users to receive an erroneous return value of "0" when calling _isleadbyte_l().
• Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows Shell, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Server, Windows Kernel, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Questa versione ha diversi problemi noti, come quelli che abbiamo segnalato poco sopra con i sistemi di autenticazione con Internet Explorer 11, un problema sugli host gestiti dal System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), e un problema sul cluster service (che può presentare un errore con alcune impostazioni per le password).

Windows 10, versione originale

Anche la versione originale è supportata, ma solo per gli utenti LTSC. Questa ha ricevuto il pacchetto KB4489872 che porta la build alla 10240.18157 con le seguenti novità (non sono presenti bug noti):

• Updates time zone information for Chile.
• Addresses an issue that prevents recognition of the first character of the Japanese era name as an abbreviation and may cause date parsing issues.
• Addresses an issue that causes shutdown to stop responding and display a black screen.
• Addresses an issue that prevents the authentication credentials dialog from appearing when an enterprise web server tries to connect to the internet.
• Addresses an issue that may cause applications that use a Microsoft Jet database with the Microsoft Access 95 file format to randomly stop working.
• Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Shell, Windows Input and Composition, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Server, Windows Kernel, Windows MSXML, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Altre versioni di Windows
