Di seguito pubblichiamo il comunicato ufficiale:
"Driving the new PC era with innovative products, Elitegroup Computer Systems today announced the September release of its sleek, ultra-slim, wide screen G220 notebook designed for on-the-go, fashion-conscious consumers – especially women – who need to stay in touch and want to stay in style.
As notebooks become constant companions to new generation of travelers, more and more buyers look to make fashion statements with their computers. With refined burnished silver case, rich finish materials and lithe form, the ECS G220 looks equally exquisite at home in a crowded waiting room or a fashionable boardroom.
The first-ever notebook with a built-in 1.3-mega pixel camera, this dual spindle notebook combines powerful performance, superb connectivity and outstanding wireless capabilities with second generation mobile micro architecture Intel processors for extended mobile operations, all in a light, lithe package that will fit in many handbags.
When one picture is worth 1,000 words, the ECS G220’s CMOS camera – created under ECS’s exclusive ‘simply smart’ design principle – is ready to take and pass on good quality still and video images. Unlike notebooks producing so-so quality image 0.35-mega pixel cameras, the G220’s integrated onboard 1.3-mega pixel camera produces high quality, high-resolution images ideal for video conferencing, gathering business data or introducing new friends to the folks back home or sharing snapshots with to lonely kids or spouses.
Along with a 10/100 Base-T LAN and MDC Fax/Modem V.90/V.92, the ECS G220 comes with an Intel PRO Wireless 2100/2200BG network connection that’s ready for its owner to keep in touch with home or the office anywhere a wireless connection is available. That wireless access, plus the Internet, e-mail and photo capture are only one touch away with the G220’s convenient hot keys for instant access to the most frequently used notebook applications.
While other slim notebooks offer only single spindle design, dual spindle design means the G220 can accommodate an optional optical drive along with a hard disk drive.
Powered by second generation mobile micro architecture Intel® 715, 725, 735, 745 and 755 processors with speeds up to 2 GHz and a 2MB L2 cache, the G220 accommodates up to 1GB system memory and features a choice of a 12.1-inch WXGA glare type TFT LCD or 12.1-inch XGA TFT LCD. With this consumer TV specification screen, the G220 wide screen delivers a 1280 x 800 resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio; the normal screen format that provides 1024 x 768 resolution at 4:3 aspect ratio. The G220’s integrated graphic controller features Intel 855GME internal graphics and supports Intel DVMT (Dynamic Video Memory Technology) with AGP 8X compatibility.
This complete mobile computing power is topped off by outstanding connectivity including a front designed 4-in-1 Card reader, a VGA–out port, PCMCIA slot, 1394A port and three ultra-fast USB 2.0 slots. More good news: Most ECS G220 slots and ports are located on the sides of the slim notebook. Than means no more bending and twisting to plug in peripherals when working on airplanes or in close quarters."
