SMT è una tecnologia dei processori AMD che migliora le prestazioni per alcuni tipi di applicazioni.
In parole semplici, il tuo processore ha 8 core, 16 thread. Questo significa che è dotato di 8 core fisici (ovvero 8 unità di processamento, che possono eseguire istruzioni in parallelo), ma la tecnologia SMT aggiunge a questi core fisici altri 8 core virtuali (o logici). Quindi arrivi a un totale di 16 core. In parole ancora più semplici, con SMT disabilitato hai 8 core con SMT abilitato hai 16 core, e quindi il processore riesce a gestire più operazioni in parallelo. E il PC apparirà più reattivo nell'esecuzione dei programmi. Le cose sono più complicate di così, ma è giusto per rendere l'idea Il fatto che abilitando SMT le latenze aumentano così tanto è un comportamento anomalo. Non dovrebbe succedere. Per ora il suggerimento resta sempre lo stesso, disabilitare tutte le funzioni di risparmio energetico del processore e impostare frequenza fissa e voltaggi fissi nel BIOS

no purtroppo ho avuto poco tempo a disposizione ma sembra sempre che la situazione non cambi... ho provato anche un benchmark e li latency rimane bassa

Hai notato se ci sono altre operazioni che fanno aumentare le latenze oltre ai test di CrystalDiskMark e CrystalDiskInfo?

No di recente feci quella prova così per sfizio e notai quella cosa forse perché non è stato un test così lungo magari come crystalmark, programmi così che testino il processore ne hai in mente qualcuno?

provato anche con una semplice analisi del sistema con l'antivirus di windows e si la latenza aumenta perchè vedo che il processore viene impiegato al massimo. ma dici possa essere un problema delle ram?

Quale processo tiene la CPU al 100% durante la scansione? Solo Antimalware Service Executable? O anche altri (ad esempio Interrupt sistema, System)?

una piccolezza che ho notato quasi da subito è il fatto che ogni tanto le mie casse non vanno cioè magari le vede il sistema ma non va l'audio e mi tocca riavviare

Dai trace che ho visto tempo fa secondo me è più probabile un'incompatibilità tra i componenti (scheda madre, CPU, sistema operativo), che porta a gestire male le funzionalità di risparmio energetico del Ryzen (CPU che vengono spente quando non dovrebbero esserlo, CPU che non vengono accese quando sono necessarie, ...).
Il risparmio energetico è implementato solitamente tramite delle funzioni utilità presenti in Windows, nella CPU e nei controller della scheda madre. Queste forniscono una stima dell'utilizzo corrente della CPU e una predizione dell'uso futuro e in base a questi dati si decide quando e quali CPU spegnere. Se sistema operativo, scheda madre, CPU non interagiscono correttamente le CPU vengono spente in maniera o in momenti non opportuni. E a confermare questo c'è il fatto che disabilitando SMT o disabilitando tutti i core eccetto 1, il problema sparisce completamente. Perché in questo caso cambiano le modalità con cui vengono attivate le funzionalità di risparmio energetico. Comunque se hai altri moduli di RAM, prova a sostituirli. Meglio non escludere niente. no ram non ne ho purtroppo.. si ho letto in giro e c'è chi come me non risolve proprio... il fatto è che nonostante le build precedenti di windows 10 e addirittura windows 7 non sia cambiato nulla quindi si penso ci sia qualcosa anche a livello hardware, ma pensavo di aver preso tutto compatibile per l'audio si riavvio e torna normale oppure accendo il secondo monitor che è poi una tv e allora come se si sincronizzasse. il problema vero è che questo fenomeno ti si è presentato su 2 PC di fatto diversi (se pur AMD), di sicuro io non avrei accettato una situazione del genere e avrei provveduto (da mò, invero) a fare il reso (qualora possibile)...
