Perché vedi mi serve un pc in casa che sia semplice e che faccia tutto lui e che più o meno non abbia mai problemi! In più Ubuntu non intacca la libertà come Suse o Fedora ecc. quindi a posto! Anche Debian uso ma quella poco.
Slackware è una roccia e mooolto più veloce e performante di Ubuntu! Però purtroppo non ho moltissimo tempo e quindi non posso pensare di mettermi li davanti alla shell e studiarci sopra ogni giorno! Proprio per questo ho rimesso a nuovo un pc vecchiotto (PIII500) dedicato solo ed esclusivamente alla Slack così da non influire sul mio lavoro e sui miei dati se qualcosa non va! Per il momento voglio imparare sempre di più in Linux, quindi quando sarò un guru della Slack la rimetterò su sul mio pc principale! Promesso!!!

Eccomi tornato
Ho preso Mb+CPU+RAM nuovi... tutto gasato reinstallo windows e slackware e indovinate? Vi scrivo da windows Non so perchè ma la slack ha qualche problema "video", cioè l'installazione mi è sembrata normalissima, solo che in pratica tutti i colori sono sfalsati, è come se fosse tutto in negativo, del tipo al posto del blu c'è il verde, al posto del rosso c'è il giallo ecc... non so se mi sono fatto capire. Probabilmente è un problema di driver video che ovviamente essendo un neofita di linux non so risolvere, quindi HELP ME! Ma i colori sbagliati ti si vedono se avvi X oppure fin dalla shell?
In ogni caso io non avendo il tuo hardware non posso aiutarti direttamente, ma: ho cercato sul forum di Slacky la stringa "x1250" ed è uscito un thread nel quale è linkata questa guida: http://www.slacky.eu/wikislack/index...ware_GNU/Linux Penso faccia al caso tuo solo se non ti fai prendere dalla foga di smanettare. (Se non sai ricompilarti il kernel e/o non intendi farlo, vedi le alternative). Ho postato il metodo che ho usato per approcciare al problema in modo da "cercare di insegnare a pescare, piuttosto che regalare pesci" (come da proverbio). Per molte cose sono assolutamente niubbio, ma il saper cercare in rete mi trae d'impaccio quasi sempre. |

Forse si potrebbe provare a compilare un driver,
piuttosto potresti postare il file xorg.conf?

Evvai, vi scrivo dalla Slack
In pratica l'ho reinstallato e ho in fase di installazione quando mi chiedeva le impostazioni del monitor ho messo una cosa del tipo "Use default Linux console" e ora va bene Ora seguendo quella guida postata vorrei provare a installare i driver originali ATI |

Stavo provando in una VirtualBox AbsoluteLinux, una Slack con IceWM come DE, molto leggero e performante ma ... Ho qualche problema con i pacchetti Nel senso ... Con le varie distro (ArchLinux / Debian) c'è qualcosa per un 'aggiornamento' dei REPO ma ... In Slack da dove cominicio ? Mi stamperò e mi leggero ben bene tutto il BOOK, ma volevo cominciare a 'provare' qualcosa ... Esempio : vorrei aggiornare i REPO ed installare NANO, come fo ? Da dove comincio ? Grazie EDIT Mi sono risposto da solo ... Ho letto qualcosa in giro, comincio a capire la 'filosofia' dei pacchetti in Slack e del loro aggiornamento Meno male che ho trovato Swaret & Slapt-Get Cominciamo ... Anche se stavo provando ZenWalk sulla macchina virtuale visto che AbsoluteLinux, che è Slack 12.1 al 100% mi pare con DE IceWM, molto carino e simpatico, non c'è che dire ... Ragazzi ora ho bisogno veramente di un grande aiuto...
Andava tutto bene... troppo bene a quanto pare! Ho installato i driver ATI, è andato tutto a buon fine, riavvio e come finisce di caricare tutto mi compare una bella scritta sul monitor "Frequenza non supportata"! Non posso fare più niente in pratica... AIUTO!!!! |

Ma i 'nuovi' tools di Slack, alias Swaret o Slap-Get non dovevano effettuare il controllo delle dipendenze e risolverle ne caso ?
Allora come mai se installo AcidRip mi dice che mancano delle librerie che poi devo installare 'a manina' ? |

Mi sembra MOLTO strano per il semplice fatto che, per esempio, SWARET, alla fine mi effettua il controllo delle dipendenze e mi dice 'Controllo Effettuato Con Successo' ... Ma ovviamente il pacchetto non parte ...
