Problema masetrizzazione DVD a 4x

Sperando di aver azzeccato sezione...

Il mio masterizzatore (LG GSA-4163B) non masterizza i dvd a 4x, il risultato inesorabile è un errore. A 8x nessun problema.

Che fare?
Sul sito LG c'è un nuovo firmware, ma i continui avvisi che un'installazione errata possano fottere il masetrizzatore mi hanno finora trattenuto...

EDIT: anche perchè sulla scatola risulta SGA 4163B, dal log 4165B...-.-
