Zenwalk Linux 4.4

zenwalk Jean-Philippe Guillemin has announced the release of Zenwalk Linux 4.4: "Dear community, Zenwalk 4.4 has been released. This version of Zenwalk utilizes the new Xfce 4.4 desktop and kernel 2.6.20. It introduces many new features and utilities: everything has been polished in many ways. The automount system has been enhanced to detect and handle more CD/DVD devices, including dynamic mountpoints management. Fusesmbtool has been updated and can now be launched from the Thunar file manager on any folder in order to browse network shares. Zenwalk 4.4 introduces the hotname system: with a few mouse clicks you can rename any USB mounted device to your preferred 'nice' name."

Come funziona l'installazione di programmi nuovi?
E' .deb rpm o gento based?
Qualcuno ha provato la versione core?
Sul sito ufficiale dicono che la differnza con quella ufficiale e':Zenwalk Core (~ 230MB iso download) is a Zenwalk system without X applications
Cosa sono X application?

derivata slackwre, ma ha il gestore pacchetti e dipendenze.
molto veloce.
prendi la ISO più "grossa" in MB, ha più software e automatismi.

zenwalk A bug fix release of Zenwalk Linux 4.4, which was release just two days ago, is now available: "We have found a bug in the Xorg system provided in Zenwalk 4.4, and we believe that it is better to issue a maintenance release, it's called Zenwalk 4.4.1. For the users who already installed Zenwalk 4.4, the Xorg problem can be fixed very easily with netpkg (the xorg package should be upgraded)." The release announcement and the changelog. Download: zenwalk-4.4.1.iso (424MB, MD5).
