"Please take off CPU from the mainboard.
When replacing it on the mainboard press it a little bit when you push the lever down.
Please, also check if the heatsink is put correctly on the CPU and has a good connection.
As an addition you can put some thermal grease between the cpu & the heatsink.
Is the heatsink also meant for this type of cpu?.
Also check following, or setup when necessary :
- Set jumper PS2_USB_PWR on 1-2. Take-off powercord from powersupply before you do this!!!.
- Powersupply should be 300 Watt minimum.
- Set BIOS to default-settings by using the CLRCMOS jumper (eventually try to upgrade it).
- Set the FSB of the CPU always by jumper and NOT in the BIOS.
- Also the jumpering of the FID Jumpers (Multiplier) is NOT needed.
- When there is a 4 Pin power-connector (normally for P4) you have to use this also.
- Exchange the memory for different ones (if possible).
As from AGP4x and AGP8x there are no problems. But a few AGP4x graphic-cards are using due to a false board-design in AGP4x mode 3,3 V for power.
This problem can be identified easally when the card is not build in: Pin A2 from AGP-connector of the AGP-card should be connected with Ground (A5). If this is not the case then it's better not to use the Graphic-card."
