When the Play Center (versions 2x or 3x) is in player view (compact) to the left of the EAX logo (on the R/H side) there is a button which opens the tray window. In the tray window you will see the CMSS selector at the bottom of the Play Center tray window. You select CMSS (Movie mode) by clicking on that option.

CMSS is not a substitute for a correctly working 5.1 setup and this 'sound effect' may not be suited to certain applications. When you hear it you will know what I mean.
With the older Creative Play Center (version 1x), CMSS is displayed all the time.
