Drivers?
If you have Windows Xp, at bootup, press the F8 key and select Safe Mode.
In Device Manager, navigate to the keyboard\mouse devices and Delete them.
Reboot the computer and Windows should redetect both and install the generic Drivers.
If the devices work in Safe Mode, then you need the correct Drivers in order to be able to work in regular Windows mode.
Note: I do not know how you say "Safe Mode" in the Italian version of Windows. Protetto, Modalita' Provvisoria or Mortadella?
