1.5V is being used for AGP 4x signaling. The power supply does not have an 1.5V outlet. The boards have to do the transformation.
Some motherboards run only with 1.5V signaling on the AGP bus. You must not insert a graphics adapter with 3.3V signaling into a motherboard that supports only 1.5V signaling! In particular all motherboards based on the Intel 850E chipset are limited to 1.5V signaling. 1.5V signaling means the graphics adapter has to support AGP 4x (or 8x, supported by newer
motherboards). The ASUS 8460 does support AGP 4x (1.5V signaling). And the 8460 supports AGP 2x.
The AGP connectors are encoded. But, there are also universial connector.
Therefore you still have to check the manuals of the motherboard and
graphics adapter, before you buy this expensive stuff.
Riassumendo l'1.5 volt serve a segnalare l'agp 4x. Alcune mobo hanno solo la segnalazione a 1.5 volt, quindi non si devono usare con le schede grafiche che usano la segnalazione a 3.3 volts.
Immagino quindi che ci sia un incompatibilita' di questo genere , cioe' che la tua scheda grafica supporti solo segnalazione a 3.3 volt (pero' piu' avanti dice che supporta anche 1.5 volt
, quindi controlla il manuale) , e la tua mobo gli dia un segnale soltanto a 1.5.
