Il termine "trunking" si usa per le porte LAN su cui viaggiano più VLAN.

Anche una singola porta può essere messa in trunk, ad essa si associano più virtual IP per ogni VLAN a cui appartiene quella porta

Stai facendo confusione tra "port trunking", che è l'aggregazione di più porte, e "trunk port", che è, come dici correttamente, una porta da cui possono passare pacchetti destinati a più VLAN. Mi rendo conto che i termini siano simili, ma non sono la stessa cosa.
