Tekno Reaver, un ragazzo finlandese talentuoso, ha aperto un nuovo progetto su patreon al fine di creare un loader capace di far girare giochi per il Sega RingEdge 1 e 2, Ringwide, e in futuro altra roba Namco e Taito.
Cos'č Sega RingEdge? E' una macchina Arcade, presente quasi solo sul mercato giapponese. Fondamentalmente, un semplice pc con una versione di windows pre-caricato e con un ssd su cui vengono installati i giochi.
Il RingEdge 1 monta:

RAM: 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM (PC-6400)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GS with 384 MB GDDR3 SDRAM (Shader Model 4.0)

Grazie al progetto di Reaver, Teknoparrot, il loader capace di far girare i giochi sul nostro pc, ha raggiunto la versione 0.5 che dovrebbe uscire entro domani.
In futuro, sarā forse possibile giocare ad Initial D 6aa (ma anche 7 e 8 che girano sulla stessa macchina) sul pc, a casa, con il volante e il supporto all'online.
Per ora i giochi supportati sono: Virtua tennis 4, sega classic racing (daytona) e Melty Blood AA. Con la versione 0.5 dovrebbero girare anche:
Sonic all star racing e Let's go island.
