raid 0 con dichi vecchi o singolo hd nuovo?

ciao di nuovo a tutti...
nel pc che voglio farmi ho pensato per risparmiare qualcosa (e farlo più veloce) di utilizzare come hard disk di sistema un raid 0 fatto con due seagate barracuda 7200.9 da 160gb che ho già, affiancati poi da un hd secondario capiente come storage. che dite ci guadagno qualcosa o spreco solo 10W in più? come faccio a vedere se i miei barracuda sono ancora in forma?
