più che formattare a basso livello, cosa che non si può più fare con i dischi moderni, si dovrebbe attuare lo "zero fill", l'operazione consiste nel formattare il disco ed impostare tutti i settori a zero, quindi ogni dato presente sull'hd viene irrimediabilmente sovrascritto
cosa che il programma di cui parli in realtà esegue, un'utility analoga che giri su W7 dovrebbe essere "eraser"
