Mi associo a quanti son perplessi dall'utilizzo dei Caviar Black... tra l'altro č un disco che, nonostante le performance elevate in single mode, non sembra ottimizzato per l'utilizzo in Raid, come riporta la review di ExtremeTech (ma speriamo che da allora abbiano risolto l'inconveniente con un nuovo firmware):

What's curious is the overall RAID score, which is *slower* than the single drive score. This seemed baffling, but the result was repeatable over multiple runs.
Taking a look at the individual test results gives us some clues as to the reason for this anomaly. Take a look at the PCMark Vantage game score in RAID 0 mode—it's huge. Drive performance is all about the drive controller embedded on the hard drive, and its accompanying firmware, and something interesting is going on in the Caviar Black firmware.
When running in RAID 0 mode, however, the drive really stumbles on media-oriented tests, such as the movies and Media Center results show. Then again, Vista Application Loading is once again a big number. It seems that the drive has been optimized for reading and writing small blocks of data, rather than streaming big media files—at least in RAID 0 mode.
