Bleak Weekly PC Sales Chart

The 12.02 - 12.08 NPD US PC games sales chart is a bleak one. Though we are no longer allowed to post actual figures, I can tell you that Call of Duty 4 sold nearly four times as many copies as Crysis, and that sales for Unreal Tournament 3 are abysmal - I honestly have not seen a triple-A title tank so quickly in years.

Da notare:
COD4: un buon fps da tutti i punti di vista (grafica bella e abbastanza leggera, gameplay collaudato ma divertente, multiplayer più che buono, marchio famoso)
The Sims 2 vari: può piacere o fare schifo (come tutto), ma è oggettivamente qualcosa di diverso dal resto (anche se ormai non è più nuovo rimane diverso). Tra l'altro gira su PC abbastanza datati e piace anche alle ragazze e alle donne
World Of Warcraft: un gioco che vive di rendita e di dipendenza, ma di fatto è ancora divertente e... toh, va su hardware datato! (coincidenza?)
Non è un caso che sulle prime 10 posizioni di questa classifica 7 giochi richiedano un hardware mediocre, 2 un hardware buono (ma non disumano) e solo Crysis un hardware high-end (per giocarlo bene... che per me vuol dire dettagli high, AAx2 e risoluzioni > 1280x1024... il tutto con fps > 30-35).
E oltre alla questione (importante, visto i costi) hardware c'è la questione pubblico (vedi The Sims), meccaniche collaudate ma divertenti (vedi WoW) e via dicendo.
Tra l'altro credo che orange box sia così in basso perchè molti si sono pressi solo Episode 2 e/o Team Fortress avendo già HL2 e HL2 Ep01.
