La prestigiosa rivista francese "Chasseur d'Images" ha testato un esemplare di preproduzione della D300. Questi sono alcuni giudizi estrapolati e fatti circolare sul forum di dpreview. Prendeteli con molle, pinze e quant'altro dato che sono appunto un'estrapolazione, ci possono essere errori nella traduzione dal francese e non ho avuto modo di leggere il testo originale:
If the D3 seems to have one stop advantage on its direct competitor the 1DMkIII regarding noise, it seems that nearly 2 stops separate the D300 from its predecessor (aka D200?)

The article also comments that the sensor is a modifed versin of the more basic one in the Sony Alpha 700 to take advantage of a higher frame rate and 14 bit conversion to optimise the active D-Lighting
