The CAS is a measure of..
Latency. CAS = Collumn Address Strobe. In short, it rappresent the time the RAM take to submit the data requested by the CPU. For example, if the CAS for one module is 3-3-3-8, the CAS for the other module should be the same 3-3-3-8 numbers.
If the CAS is different, the modules may or may not be able to perform together on the same motherboard.
