The American astronomer Edwin Powell Hubble is famous mainly for the discovery, together to Milton Humason, in 1929, of the law empiricist redshift/distance, nowadays universal famous as law of Hubble. Such law asserts that linear relation between redshift (that is the movement towards red of the phantom of the light emitted from the celestial bodies) of the light emitted from the galaxies exists one and their distance: much greater one is the distance of the galaxy and much greater will be its redshift. In mathematical shape the law of Hubble can be expressed like z = H0 D where z is the measured Redshift of the galaxy, D is its distance and H0 is the constant of Hubble, whose value, today commonly accepted, is of approximately 70 km/s for Megaparsec.
