Allora ragazzi, se tutto va bene questo week end finalmente dovrei riuscire a trovare il tempo per installare Oblivion.
Stò dando una bella "ripulita" al PC e tra le altre cose dovrò aggiornare anche drivers della mia 6800GT.
La questione è questa, personalmente "aborro" i drivers beta non certificati ma qualche frame in più assicurato non lo diprezzerei affatto, quindi, vi chiedo, vale veramente la pena installare i Forceware 84.25 beta ottimizzati per Oblivion oppure e meglio affidarsi agli 84.21 ufficiali? Quanto si dovrebbe guadagnare mediamente con i drivers ottimizzati?

Ci sono tanti argomenti interessanti, ad esempio, riguardo al tweak per le schede Nvidia, sapete, quello che dice di mettere a "0" la voce “Max frames to render”, bene nella guida viene suggerito di metterlo prima a "2" e se le cose non migliorano di metterlo a "1", in ogni caso mi sembra che, contrariamente a quello che gira in rete, venga sconsigliato il valore "0".

"However, here's the important part: this is not a tweak for improving FPS as such. The general recommendation to set 'Max Frames to Render Ahead' (or 'Flip Queue') from its default of 3 down to 0 will actually reduce performance on many systems, particularly Dual Core or HyperThreading CPUs. Secondly, even on single core systems, you may notice reduced performance in certain areas. So on balance I strongly recommend setting this value to 2 to start with, and if you still have mouse lag, dropping it down to 1. Remember, not all mouse lag is due to this setting: in areas where you have very low FPS (i.e. below 10-15FPS), you will get lagginess - this occurs in virtually any game where your FPS drops down to the low teens or single digits. You will have to consider changing other settings to increase overall FPS."
