I am using a SATA hard drive with NCQ technology on an nForce motherboard and I am experiencing problems. How do I fix this?
Answer
NVIDIA has received emails from customers experiencing problems with certain NCQ enabled SATA hard drives. NVIDIA is currently working on an updated nForce driver which will address the issues with certain hard drives which have been reported to us by end users. In the meantime, you may disable NCQ on your PC by downloading the file "ncqoff.reg" and then opening the file to add the information to your PC. Alternatively, if this does not resolve your issue, you may instead use the utility "ncq-fix.exe" which will also disable NCQ on your system. You will find both files below in the File Attachments section.

grazie Polvere, interessante citazione.
intanto la dfi mi č arrivata e ho messo subito i dischi in raid 0. Devo dire che i risultati sia in termini di stabilitā che di prestazioni sono decisamente soddisfacenti, soprattutto se paragonati alla marea di problemi e ai risultati mediocri che avevo sulla nf7-s col suo 3112 su bus pci.
l'NCQ mi pare di ricordare che nella modalitā raid non entri in azione, comunque mi informo sulla faccenda.
