boinc e debian
 

Sono un vecchio utilizzatore di boinc ma nuovo di debian e mi trovo un po' in difficolta', ho installato il pacchetto deb di boinc apparentemente senza problemi ma quando vado a dare il comando boinc mi partono degli errori che coinvolgono in particolare la gui, sapete indicarmi dove cercare istruzioni al riguardo?

ciao io uso debian lenny da tempo e non ho problemi con boinc...ho istallato tutto da synaptic.. se posso aiutarti kiedi pure :)

Io ho installato il relativo pacchetto (.. con kpackage (che non ho capito se e' )ancora synaptic o un altro frontend) e va tutto bene. Mi aspettavo di trovare un link nel menu di kde che invece non c'e' per cui da una shell digito boinc e ottengo questo:

... ho provato anche con boin_cmd ma non so che parmetri mettere.
Ho provato anche a scaricare un pacchetto boinc piu' recente ma con quello mi da subito un errore libcurl, se non ricordo male, che credo preveda un aggiornamento di altri pacchetti ... insomma sono parecchio in confusione ... se sai come consigliarmi ...

Se ricordo bene il pacchetto debian di boinc ti permette di avere l'avvio automatico ogni volta che accendi il pc.

Per gestire e configurare i progetti in modalità grafica devi installare il pacchetto boinc-manager.

Ottimo mancava proprio il pacchetto grafico, peccato che per ora non riesco a scaricare nessuna wu.
... per l'avvio automatico non ho ben capito se va perche' non ho scaricato nulla.
tra l'altro ho visto che c'e' anche un pacchetto: boinc-app-seti che non ho ben capito cosa sia.

Come detto il Boinc manager si apre ma non riesce a connettersi, mi e' uscita una finestra con un breve messaggio (che ora non riesco piu' a far uscire) in cui mi diceva di connettermi a internet e ovviamente lo sono

Nella finestra delle opzioni trovo solo la possibilita' di settare un proxy (socks,http). Ho una normale connessione alice ... che fare?

Continuo a non riuscire a scaricare le wu, la finestra d'errore mi segnala questo:

ma la connessione e' attiva. Il log completo indica questo:

Ho provato a disinstallare e reinstallare tutti, riesco ad agganciare il progetto ma poi niente... help non so che pesci pigliare ...

Ho letto e dice di scompattare i file in boinc\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\ ma io questa cartella non la trovo, non sono ancora molto pratico di linux ma immagino che dovrebbe trovarsi sotto la home dove trovo solo un file .boinc manager

Se ricordo bene, su debian la trovi in /var/lib/boinc-client.

inoltre mi e' venuta nuovamente fuori la finestra che mi avvisa che ci sono problemi con la connessione:

... ho provato anche a selezionare la rete sempre disponobile (era su basata sulle preferenze), la sezione run invece non si puo' scegliere ma penso che dipenda dal fatto che non c'e' nessuna wu ... boh?

Precisamente, dove hai copiato i file app_info.xml e setiathome-5.15.x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu?

e nel dubbio ho lasciato anche la cartella con dentro i files:
/var/lib/boinc-client/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/2.4_Linux64_kernel_2.6_generic_SSE2

Si, vanno copiati qui dentro.

Il client boinc non è recentissimo, e non sarebbe male aggiornarlo, solo che dovresti passare il sistema a unstable.

Puoi postare gli ultimi log di boinc per inquadrare bene il problema?
