[Expert] CT-478, PIN staccato...era vitale??

Vi rispparmio la storia perche se la scrivo di nuovo uccido qualcuno.

Mi ritrovo con un CT 479 col segente PIN staccato:

Si tratta di quello indicato dalla freccia in posizione A2, THERMTRIP#


Il processore funziona, è riconosciuto correttamente e chiude SPI senza problemi.

There are two independent thermal sensors in the Intel Pentium 4 processor in the 478-pin package. One is the on-die thermal diode. The other is the temperature sensor used for the Thermal Monitor and for THERMTRIP#.

THERMTRIP

In the event of a catastrophic cooling failure, the processor will automatically shut down when the silicon temperature has reached approximately ~135 °C. At this point, the system bus signal THERMTRIP# goes active and power needs to be removed from the processor. THERMTRIP# stays active until RESET# has been initiated. THERMTRIP# activation is independent of processor activity and does not generate any bus cycles.


In pratica si tratta di un PIN che attiva lo spegnimento automatico del processore quando questo raggiunge la temperatura di 135°C circa. Questo può accadere praticamente solo se accendo la CPU senza il dissipatore.

Vi prego qualcuno mi confermi che posso usare il processore senza preoccuparmi, almeno finchè non vedo se mi cambiano l'adattatore con uno NUOVO...
