Intel HD Audio e Linux

Ciao a tutti, ho un problema.

Avendo da poco acquistato un asus w5600a mi trovo ad avere problemi con Linux poichè il chipset audio non viene riconosciuto. Il chipset non è il solito poichè avendo un Centrino Sonoma, il chipset non è il solito ac97 ma l'Intel HD Audio.

C'è qualcuno che può aiutarmi?

(PS: io uso Ubuntu, ma credo che sia lo stesso per tutte le distribuzioni)

Dal changelog Alsa si vede che la 1.0.9 supporta l'intel HDA.

Ho aggiornato tutti i driver ALSA alla versione 1.0.9 ma il problema persiste.

Usando GNOME, quando vado in Preferenze>Selettore di sistemi multimediali, se provo a scegliere i driver alsa e faccio il test mi da errore e non riesco a far partire nemmeno i cd, mentre scegliendo altri driver sembra funzionare tutto nel senso che se apro il Monitor Volume le colonnine salgono e scendono, ma in effetti non si sente niente.

This was probably the most difficult because of the complete lack of any documentation. When I look now, it is actualy remarkably simple to get working.

Windows XP reports the card to be a Realtek High Definition audio card. There is a driver available on the Realtek web site (http://www.realtek.com.tw) however the documentation provided is unclear at best. Note that the card is also referred to as an Intel High Definition audio card !

Download the Realtek driver from their web site (linux_r31.zip). Unzip and then go into the directory alsa-driver-1.0.4. Note that make will crash when trying to compile. I then told ‘configure’ just to compile the relevant audio driver which worked ! :

./configure -–with-cards=azalia
make
make install
./snddevices (this makes the /dev entries)

Next edit your /etc/modprobe.conf file and add the following lines, make sure you put them at the top of the file, if not the card sometimes fails to initialise at boot time :

options snd major=116 cards_limit=1
alias snd-card-0 snd-azalia
options snd-azalia index=0 id="Azalia"
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss

alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss

Reboot and you should have full audio !

Prima però vorrei togliere i vecchi driver che ho installato per sicurezza, sai dirmi come si può fare?

Mai usato Ubuntu e nn penso di farlo :D

Se nn erro e' apt-get remove pacchetto

(al max chiedi nella sex linux)

Prima di farlo prova cmq questo:

Magari devi solo caricare i moduli giusti ed e' fatta :)

Oggi ho provato ad installare il pacchetto nuvo.

Ora la scheda sembra funzionare, cioè i suoni di sistema funzionano, ma i wav , i cd e gli mp3 no. Non ho capito che file devo modificare, io il modprobe.conf non ce l'ho sul computer (o forse non ho capito bene dove cercare).

Ho una hda anchio sul mio S4, in modules.conf ho

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel

e nel kernel (2.6.12-r6) ho CONFIG_SND_HDA_INTEL=m, non uso gli alsadriver. Ma con gli alsadriver credo che avrei dovuto compialare con ./configure -–with-cards=hda-intel

Ho risolto tutto:

per il cdrom ho dovuto settare come output l'esd e input l'oss;
per gli mp3 era un problema di configurazione di xmms

Mi spiace non poter usare gli ALSA, ma se funzica tutto ora non importa :D
