dovresti essere più chiaro e indicare che distribuzione usi.
se la distro usa XFree sappi che ho descritto come cambiare risoluzione circa 1 oretta fa su questo thread: http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showthread.php?p=8776320#post8776320
se la distro usa invece Xorg non cambia niente a parte il file da configurare che non sarà più XF86Config-4 ma xorg.conf

per ora sn a 1400x1050 però a me basta 1024x768, in quanto ho un lcd da 15"... capito?

Non puoi cambiare risoluzione su un LCD; o meglio, puoi cambiarla ma solo quella nativa (1400x1050) si vedrà bene, le altre saranno da poco leggibili a orribili.
E' un limite dello schermo, non del software.

Non lo so, il mio se non è a 1024x768 fa schifo sotto Windows, Linux e DOS! :p

ora sto vedendo d ovviare al problema ingrandendo tutti i caratteri...!

sai per caso come posso fare per aumentare la dimensione dei caratteri k stanno dentro le finestre di linux?

ad esempio la finestra di "configure your computer"

Sotto Gnome c'è un'opzione apposita ma ora sono sotto win e non sapreidirti ove trovarla...

poi sai perkè quando installo i programmi me li installa nella cartella da dove lancio l'installazione?
