[DEBIAN] Problema con la risoluzione

Ciao a tutti! :D

Sto usando KDE e andando su

KDE Control Center -> Peripherals -> Display

ho cambiato la risoluzione da 1280 * 768 a 800 * 600. Tuttavia l'unica cosa che sono riuscito ad ottenere è che non riesco più a fare un granchè su X. Sembrerebbe che la risoluzione non sia supportata, ma non capisco come ciò sia possibile.. Se la cambio con i tasti

"ctrl alt -"

o

"ctrl alt +"

ottengo lo stesso effetto?

Che posso fare?

Ho riconfigurato il server grafico, dandagli come risoluzioni 800*600 e inferiori, tuttavia continua ad usarmi come prestabilita 1024*768. Quando provo a cambiarla, o avvio giochi tipo TuxRacer, mi appare la schermata che trovate qui: http://sifr.altervista.org/errore.gif

Purtroppo non è un granchè l'immagine, perchè ho dovuto fare la foto allo schermo con la macchinetta fotografica: se provavo a fare un normale screenshot, mi faceva vedere, anzichè queste linee oblique, il testo e le immagini in modo corretto.

Come mai usi vesa come driver?
Che scheda hai?
L'opzione "UseFBDev" io la metterei su "false".

Ho una ATIRadeon 9000, tuttavia avevo provato a dargli "ATI" come driver, ma non funzionava (non mi ricordo quale fosse di preciso il problema, però posso riprovare a dargli "ati"). Adesso provo a mettere su false UseFBdev.

OK. Se ricordo bene dovrebbe esserci anche il modulo radeon

ps.: già che ci sono, me ne approfitto per andare un po' OT: per configurare la scheda grafica, immagino debba installare sia i driver che i moduli. I driver metto quelli che trovo sul sito ufficiale, per quanto riguarda i moduli, cosa mi serve? Avevo visto dei moduli riguardo all'AGP, oltre a questi serve altro?
