guardando sul sito di geexbox ho trovato il programmino che usa per fare lo switch su tv (atitvout appunto).
scaricato, compilato e lanciato...
con l'opzione auto la tv fa un lampo e basta, con
atitvout -f t

Maybe this command is not supported by your graphics adapter?
