Ragazzi sono abbastanza niubbo

ma cavolo è 1 settimana che provo a far andare debian sarge con il 2.4 e la mia nuova 6800LE ma non ci riesco

provate tutte sia il .run Nvidia che semplicemente settando il driver nv in xf86config....

niente al riavvio sono a 640 e 16 colori...capite bene che così non me ne facico una mazza di linux non vedendo le finestre per intero....

help me....tnx

se il modulo viene installato correttamente e viene caricato da x, probabilmente hai configurato xfree per girare solo a 640

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 e fai attenzione a cosa ti dice.

il modulo nv viene caricato ma al riavvio mi dice che x non puo' essere inizializzato....questo ogni volta che metto nv come modulo...mentre con vesa o vga parte x ma a 16 colori a 640....

lo stesso mi fa con la ubuntu....

inoltre ho provato sia il dpkg reconfigure che il + testuale xf86config settando le varie risoluzioni e i vari depth...

anche 800*600 a 16 bit e non va nulla....

se mi dite quale log prendere in var ve lo posto....

aiutate un mezzo niubbo o rischio di mollare

ps per ora farei anche a meno del 3d ma almeno vorrei un decente 800*600

prova a sostituire in Default Depth il 16 con 24, in quanto nelle varie risoluzioni che hai nella profondità di colore a 16 bit è settata solo al risoluzione di 800x600. Oppure a Depth 16 aggiungi le altre risoluzioni che vuoi utilizzare.

già che ci sei, non me ne ero accorto, nel tuo log il tuo monitor è settato con refresh verticale ed orizzontale standard. Setta anche i valori di refresh del tuo monitor, altrimenti certe modalità di risoluzione diventano inutilizzabili.
