Monitor lcd su redhat 9.0 - VGA NOT SUPPORT

Non riesco a far andare il mio monitor lcd 15" su un pc con redhat 9.0 installata. Mi da sempre "VGA NOT SUPPORTED".

Attualmente sto usando un philips 17" e tutto funziona mentre se uso un normale 15" non LCD neppure questo funziona.

Tempo fa avevo avuto lo stesso problema con Mandrake 10.0 ed ero riuscito a superare il problema andando in lilo.conf aggiungendo vga=791 e il mio LCD funzionava.
Ora ho grub installato come bootlooader ed ho provato a inserire il parametro vga=791 ma non funziona
cosa posso fare?

Visto che siamo in tema (premetto che ho la suse 9.1 pers)

Ho un monitor acer al712, che non viene riconosciuto e non compare nell'elenco.
Come driver uso "lcd 1280*1024 @75hz", ma l'unico refresh rate disponibile é 60hz; ho provato anche il "vesa 1280*1024 @75hz" ma il problema persiste (e con i vesa ogni volta mi dice che devo impostare il monitor, quindi non lo digerisce tanto bene).

Io credo che dovrei impostare manualmente il pixel clock (ora ce l'ho a 108, secondo il manuale dovrei averlo a 135 x avere 75hz di refresh) in xf86 visto che altrove non posso, ma in xf86 non c'é nessun opzione x il pixel clock, e non c'é nessun'opzione in più rispetto a quelle disponibili nella config del monitor.

Devi editare il file, e aggiungere un # alle righe con ModeLine

Esempio visivo... :)

Le linee con # vengono ingnorate al successivo riavvio di X.

Ho inserito i dati richiesti ma fra le modelines manca il 1280*1024, c'é il 1280*960 e quelli superiori, ma la risoluzione che serve a me proprio no :mc:
