L'audio non va con Mandrake

Ho un epox 8rda3+ con sistema audio c-media 9738,da gestione periferiche mi dice che la periferica è riconosciuta come nforce2 audio codec interface,in realtà anche se il mixer di kde funziona,non riproduce alcun suono.Ora la mia domanda è questa i driver dal sito della c-media li ho trovati,conviene installare quelli ?oppure potrei provare a far funzionare questi?provo a caricare driver alternativi?sempre da gestione periferiche--> gestione modulo posso utilizzare altri driver ...........

la lista di driver disponibili è la seguente:
nvaudio
snd intel8x0

fammi sapere dal centro di controllo di mndrake quale usi tu.
Nel caso fosse uno dei due non vorrei che ci fosse qualcosa che mi impedisca di sentire.

Oltre ad alzare i volumi, controlla che i canali (pallini verdi) sono abilitati.
E' uno scherzo comune dei driver Alsa.

già controllati i pallini sono tutti verdi,nel dubbio ho provato anche a cambiare connettore delle cuffie,ma nulla.

da notare che ho creato un soft link alla dir include/linux/ da /lib/modules/'uname -r'/build/
da quello che leggo sembra che volgia proprio i sorgenti per intero o sbaglio?

Sei sicuro di avere un c-media? lspci dovrebbe fartelo vedere.
Se si' prova a disabilitare da bios uno dei due chip.

allora per chiarirci le idee,la mia epox ha come sistema audio un chip cmedia 9739a,il chipset nforce2 dovrebbe montare nel suo southbridge(di cui esistono diverse versioni)il soundstorm,che dovrebbe essere disabilitato da hardware,quindi non vedo il motivo per cui linux me lo veda e xp no :confused:
cmq la strada da seguire credo sia quella di compilare i driver cmedia e poi da modules.conf dirgli di usare come driver cmedia,e dovrebbe funzionare tutto,ora l'arduo compito di compilare sti driver alquanto ostici :rolleyes:

Che ti costa dare un'occhiata al bios? Comunque se lspci non lo vede puoi installare tutti i driver che vuoi, non funzionera' mai.

hai perfettamente ragione ma se il manuale riporta l'unica voce AC97 Audio impostabile su auto-disabled,e aggiungo che è specificato cmedia 9738a,come devo fare?lo so che se lspci non lo rileva è inutile sbatterci la testa ma allora qui ci deve esser un erroe di fondo!!!giusto?

Intanto dovresti vedere se il c-media esiste fisicamente, guardando la scheda madre (a volte certe caratteristiche non ci sono in tutti i modelli), poi prova a postare lspci completo, magari ci si capisce qualcosa.

grazie per la fiducia questo cmq è il link delle specifiche della mia mobo http://www.epox.nl/english/products/motherboard/8rda3%2B.htm ,la mia è la ver 1.1 che differenzia soltanto per il south bridge da questa che ha il controller serial ata integrato,ed è ben specificato qual'è il chip audio,per l'output del dmesg a piu tardi ora sto studiando,domani ho le'same di sistemi operativi modulo A.
PS:cmq non ho ancora capito perche reistallare i driver del chipset,tenerli aggiornati non fa mai male,ma a che pro farlo?

ti invito anche a dare un'occhiata allo schema di pag. 14 (1-8) dal quale si vede chiaramente che il chip cmedia viene connesso al bridge nforce. Se non risolvi gli eventuali problemi con il chipset nforce probabilmente la sk audio non funzionera' o non verra addirittura riconosciuta.
Gia che ci sei posta anche un lsmod; non e' che hai un altro modulo caricato che occupa la device "abusivamente", tipo schede di acquisizione, schede tv...
In alternativa prova ad usare il modulo i810_audio

in bocca al lupo per l'esame.

mi sa che aggiornare i driver è inutile gli unici due moduli disponibili sono per quelli per l'audio e quelli per la rete,indi mi sa che il probelma è da ricercare altrove :( cmq credo che il problema sia dato da un cobflitto di periferiche in quanto il chip non lo vedo elencato da nessuna parte,credo che qualche atra periferica si è rubata l'irq,domani appena torno dall'esameprovo ad impostarli manualmente da bios :)

è possibile che il driver alsa non sia installato il seguente file non lo trovo /proc/asound/version.h la cartella asound non esiste proprio,alsaconf il bush mi dice comando non trovato,bhaaa :confused:
l'ho trovato invece qui /usr/include/alsa/version.h

perchè si impara di più mettendo ordine alla confusione,non credi?ho scaricato i driver alsa,la libreria,i tool,e la libreria OSS pero durante la compilazione mi da un errore,il configure mi dice che il compilatore usato per compilare il kernel è diverso da quello usato ora :rolleyes:
PS: esiste alsactl non il conf

Potrebbe funziona a me sembra di sì,con rmmod rimuovo quello esistente e monto quello compilato ;)

vedo che il soundcore e' occupato da bttv. Potrebbe essere come dicevamo, cioe' un driver sta occupando la risorsa (un problema che si potrebbe presentare anche su winXP penso). Io farei cosi:
1- ricompilare il driver cmedia
2- rimuovere (rmmod) i seguenti drivers/moduli: bttv, video-buf, i2c-algo-bit, v4l2-common, btcx-risc, i2c-core, videodev
(insomma tutti i drivers che usa la scheda di acquisizione)
3- inserire il driver cmedia (modprobe)
4- pregare che esca un fottuto suono
E' importante che prima di inserire il modulo nuovo tu abbia rimosso quelli vecchi altrimenti cmedia potrebbe caricarsi ma continuerebbe a non suonare.
Se non prova ad aggiornare il driver del chip nforce come ti dicevo e dopo prova a ricompilare alsa (strano che non ci sia alsaconf) dai sorgenti.

Con l'adsl di nuovo up anche il problema ritorna,appena posso vi faccio sapere se è la scheda di aquisiszione che occupa abbusivamente le risorse dell'audio
