Ho 1 gb di ram ed ho bisogno di utilizzare windows 98 per via di alcune applicazioni che non girano su xp nemmeno in modalità compatibile. Sapevo che Win 9x ha dei problemi a gestire quantità di ram superiori ai 512 mb quindi sono andato a cercare delle informazioni per risolvere il problema.
Ecco quello che ho trovato:
* Use the MaxFileCache setting in the System.ini file to reduce the maximum amount of memory that Vcache uses to 512 megabytes (524,288 KB) or less. * Reduce the amount of memory that is installed in your computer to 512 MB or less.
Il problema è sono riuscito a far funzionare il sistema solo con 768mb di ram. Non riesco ad arrivare ad 1GB e quindi rimangono 256 inutilizzati (e dato che ho pagato anche quei mb la cosa fa incavolare:muro: )
Qualcuno di voi è riuscito a risolvere questo problema?
