Hello Alexandre
I think we have the story now on what happened to your sword.
It was shipped to you from one of our suppliers in San Diego, California. We
asked them to ship it to save time and expense (rather than first shipping
to us and then to you). It was shipped quite some time ago. I'm not sure
exactly when because they failed to send us their usual shipping notice.
This is one of the confusing factors (they are suppose to always send us a
shipping notice). We need that information to be able to let our customer
know when an item has shipped.
Several days ago they sent us this note:
" Hi Dave, Invoice #580459 from April 15 was just returned to us by customs
as Italy doesn't accept swords into the country anymore. It's been restocked
and credited to your account. You have also been charged for return shipping
from Italy."
I wasn't sure which customer they were referring to because all they gave us
was their invoice number. I've since been able to determine that the sword
was a Cold Steel 88BOK and that you were the intended recipient.
It looks like your sword was intercepted by Italian Customs Inspectors and
returned to the sender after several months. There was no explanation for
the slow handling.
We have been shipping other swords to Italy without a problem. Does this
mean that they're cracking down and starting to enforce the prohibition
against weapons importing??? Or does it simply mean that we were unlucky to
get an overly strict customs inspector this time???
I don't suppose you would want to try shipping it again and risk having the
same thing happen. We can refund your payment after subtracting our costs
(shipping both directions, Paypal and eBay fees). Please confirm your
preference.
I'm sorry that this happened and that it took so many months. It was
unfortunately beyond our control.
Best regards,
Dave Small
