August 20, 2004 - Konami took the ongoing GC-Games Convention in Germany as the occasion to announce a brand-new first-person shooter for PlayStation 2 and PC. Called The Regiment, the Kuju-developed game casts players in the role of a British S.A.S. special force operative.
The game itself is a tactical combat shooter much like Ubisoft's Rainbow Six series. Featuring a four-man team battling terrorists in London, the game offers realistic squad-based missions that were created with the help of actual S.A.S. veterans.
The Regiment runs on the Unreal engine, features Karma physics, and supports voice-over-IP for PlayStation 2.
