Più che una recensione è un test prestazionale :)
Il DI-624 è un Gateway Wireless a 54/108Mbps + Switch 4 Porte 10/100Mbps con funzioni di Firewall, Router e server DHCP.

La caratteristica di questi 2 componenti (comprati su ebay a $89 tutti e 2 comprese le s.s. e arrivati in 4 giorni a casa) è che insieme possono viaggiare alla splendida velocità di 108Mbps compatibile solo con alcune periferiche della stessa casa (funzionalità AirPlus Xtreme G).
L'installazione è piuttosto semplice sia del router che della pcmcia (si devono installare i driver anche con windows xp).
Avevo già un'altra scheda pcmcia wifi 802.11g della Linksys: WPC54G e mi trovavo piuttosto bene....ma ho voluto vedere se effettivamente ci stava questo raddoppio di velocità di tramissione dati.
Ho usato il programma Netperf per fare il test. (lanciando la stringa da prompt "netperf_server.exe" sul pc a cui è connesso il router e "netperf_client.exe -H 192.168.0.100" sul notebook).
Ci sono varie voci nella sezione "Performance" del Router tra cui:
a) 802.11g Only Mode (Enable/Disabled);
b) Super G Mode (Disabled/Super G without Turbo/Super G with Dynamic Turbo/Super G with Static Turbo) che influiscono sulla compatibilità dei vari protocolli.
