Essì, questa mattina mi è toccato fare una composition in "bello stile". Questo significa utilizzare un inglese inglese e non un qualche cosa di più libero in stile americano. Stanco di essere mazzolato ho decisi di fare una cosa simile:

The pets are the terror of a lot of parents because for many reasons they have to prohibit their children to have an animal.
Having and mantaining a pet is a important responsability. A lot of people think that a pet is like a game, so the use it when they want.
I think that all people must take care of the animals, in particular the animals that live with them. Taking care means bring them meal every day, clean them and have a fun with them.
I have two turtles since 1994, the are a bit old. I do not take with me other animals because I know that I cannot take care of it. Just the turtles are a responsability for me. I usually change their water weekly and clean orck and sand of their bowl monthly.
I am very proud when someone says "Nice turtles, they are very clean" because I know that it is the result of my care.
I am very satisfied when I see that my turtles are looking for their meal. I think that I am their god.

stilisticamente ti consiglierei di lavorarci un po' perche' ci sono migliaia di they e the che l'appesantiscono.


capitolo america: vai in un qualsiasi college e ti becchi un voto di composizione su ogni paper che consegni, gli errori di grammatica pesano come macigni sulla tua valutazione. Puoi anche scrivere correttamente ma spesso ti ritrovi il paper mezzo riscritto.

"Game" non indica un oggetto, ma un'azione.
Inoltre, "game" indica anche gli animali selvatici, oggetto di caccia. Il fraintendimento con "pet" e` preoccupante... :D

Però "Gli animali sono il terrore di molti genitori perché per molte ragioni (essi) proibiscono ai loro figli di avere animali" è una frase un po' illogica... che volevi dire?

Però "Gli animali sono il terrore di molti genitori perché per molte ragioni (essi) proibiscono ai loro figli di avere animali" è una frase un po' illogica... che volevi dire?

in poche parole volevo intendere che i genitori non voglio negare nulla ai figli :D

Azz, per essere un costruttore di siti/smaneggiatore di server/viaggiatore negli usa non te la cavi mica tanto bene con l'inglese... ma più che una questione di errori grammaticali imho il problema sta nella costruzione delle frasi, si vede che prendi semplicemente frasi in italiano traducendo parola per parola, e viene fuori una cosa un po' brutta da leggere...

allora, fai una bella cosa:
scrivi in italiano cosa volevi dire in inglese, almeno è più semplice dirti cosa c'è di sbagliato o meno, perché la grammatica mi pare che torni, ma il senso delle frasi a volte è un po' "traballante"

ed è proprio la storia degli usa a fragarmi.... ti faccio un esempio, c'è un mio amico, il suo soprannome è Birdy... vive a Milano ma è nato negli USA... lui parla e capisce tutto al volo senza troppo sforzo ma non sa scrivere nemmeno una parola in inglese.

Questo perchè capire è diverso da scrivere. Conosco persone bravissime a parlare, spigliate e veloci ma che non riescono a scrivere mezza riga.

Cmq ti posso assicurare di non tradurre parola per parola, sarebbe un disastro. Ho detto chiaramente che ho fatto una cosa elementare, almeno non mi rompono le balle dicendo "questa espressione non va bene, l'altra nemmeno, questa la si usa solo negli usa". LEI vuole la regola SVOMPT, ha avuto la regola SVOMPT. :D

Gli animali domestici sono il terrore dei genitori poichè, per molte ragioni, essi devono probire ai loro figli di possedere un animale domestico.

Ovviamente in italiano è ripetitiva al massima, ma d'altra parte l'ho tradotta proprio letterale letterale e, come si sa, è caratteristica degli inglesi essere ripetitivi su soggetto e complemento oggetto.

quella frase ha senso così come è scritta.

le critiche che ti vengono rivolte riguardano appunto lo stile in generale, lasciando stare la grammatica. ad esempio quella caterva di the, they e their rende il pezzo assai indigesto, così come alcuneo oggettive che nn necessitano di that.
