Tim Sweeney della Epic ha rivelato che UT2003 ed UT2004 non saranno compatibile fra di loro attraverso il Network. Questo significa che giocatori di UT2004 non potranno giocare sui server UT2003 come originalmente progettato.
Networking won't work between UT2003 and UT2004. We had initially plannedto support that, but the network code has changed so much in order to reduce bandwidth, support vehicles, and increase performance, that we couldn't keep the two games network-compatible.
