problemi con file .mpeg e .mpg

Ragazzi ho un problema, ne con Virtual Dub, ne con TmpgEnc riesco ad aprire alcuni file .mpeg e .mpg che creo con Moviestar, entrambi i programmi mi danno errore. Uno dice che il file non è supportato l'altro che manca il filtro mpeg.. come mai??? eppure con Windows Media Player li riproduco ottimamente..
