L'etichetta della hewlett Packard sul mio HD barracuda seagate riporta due modelli : St 118273WC e ST 118273 WD, ho copiato alcuni punti del vostro link al sito Seagate :

Quali istruzioni devo seguire sul sito della Seagate x l'installazione del
suddetto Barracuda a 80 Pin?
Il problema è che ci sono indicazioni diverse se è WC oppure WD :Drive

drives. To mount a "WC" or "LC" drive, plug the drive into the

E queste ?:
I/O circuits and data path widths
. "WD" models use differential I/O circuits. You cannot mix these
models with single-ended models ("N," "W," "WC," and "LC")
on the same SCSI bus. The circuits are incompatible with each
other.
. "W," "WD," "WC," and "LW" models have a "wide" (16-bit) SCSI
data bus rather than the standard (non-wide) 8-bit SCSI data
bus; however, you can use these wide drives on a standard
(non-wide) 8-bit data bus.
Riassumendo . dato che sto cercando di inserire il Barracuda 80 pin tramite
adattatore sulla catena LVD del mio 2949U2W dove è già presente un IBM LVD
da 9 GB se ho interpretato bene le seguenti istruzioni NON dovrei eseguire
nessun settaggio(jumper) neppure sull'adattatore(se il mio HD è un WC con
caratteristiche WD):
WC/DC drives section Setting the SCSI ID jumpers
The SCSI ID for "WC" and "LC" model drives is normally set over
the SCSI bus by the host system using connector contacts 39
(ID0), 40 (ID2), 79 (ID1), and 80 (ID3). Users need not install
jumpers to select SCSI ID.
Terminating the drive
"WC" and "LC" model drives do not have internal terminators or
any other way of adding internal termination to the drive. External
termination for these drives must be supplied by the host
equipment.
