come capire se sono sovracarico?

Ciao,
sto cercando di raccapezzarmi con un server GNU/Linux che fa le bizze.
Innanzitutto ho il sospetto che la macchina possa essere sottodimensionata per le sue esigenze.
Vi faccio vedere un paio di output.
Ho bisogno anche di capire come si legge top e cosa significa load avg:

direi che sono ECCESSIVAMENTE TROPPI!

per qualche arcano motivo, pare che il Symantec Antivirus Scan Engine,
al posto di aprire 73 processi, ne aprisse 730.
in pratica ogni volta che lo stoppavo/riavviavo succedeva che non stoppava e apriva nuovi processi.

Adesso ho killato tutto a mano e fatto ripartire correttamente, pare che funzioni.

Speriamo, anche perchè lasciare squid senza antivirus mi pare davvero un po' brutto.
