Zykon Virtual Twister 10€
The Zykon Virtual Twister is an 11 button gamepad also equipped with motion sensing technology. Add in an eight-position hat switch and throttle control, and it appears to be identical to Microsoft's offering. But, as we all know, looks can be deceiving.
Peer upon the Virtual Twister and you will find two rows of three buttons, labeled (A), (B), (C), (X), (Y), (Z). The top row of buttons is smaller than the bottom row, although you don't notice any difference during use. The pistol grip handles position a set of buttons under your itchy trigger fingers. The directional pad itself is flatter than the FreeStyle Pro's directional pad, making precise movement easier to achieve. The rotary throttle control is not free-spinning like the Microsoft gamepad; instead there is a definite stop point that marks the end of the axis. Two shift buttons, as opposed to one on the Microsoft gamepad, are located next to the directional pad. In the middle of the pad is a three button cluster; the button on the left toggles the gamepad's motion sensing technology on and off (with a green/red light to show which mode it is in), the Start button is in the middle, and the button on the right is labeled Turbo (also lights up). The gamepad is connected to the gameport via a seven-foot cable, comparable to Microsoft's gamepad. Zykon is supposed to offer a gameport-to-USB adapter, but I didn't have one to review with this unit.
