...all'avvio d win xp m compare 1 schermata blu con il seguente msg: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.....a cosa è dovuto questo errore???.....grazie x le eventuali risp.

uppo perchè mi sta succedendo la stessa cosa da qualche minuto!!!

la ram l'ho appena testata con memtest e sembra OK...

When booting up to Win XP you may get a error that reads "Unmountable Boot Volume". This is probably because your boot.ini file is messed up.
So, what do you do about it, panic and try to mount your boot in your computer...... No that is probably not a good idea.

You can boot to the XP cd and when you see the Welcome to setup press the letter R
You will get a dos prompt
Then type "chkdsk /p" without the quotes and hit enter
When that is done type "fixboot" and hit enter
"Y" and enter at the prompt
Then type "exit" and hit enter
The system will now reboot into Windows

If for some reason that don't work for you, you can boot to the recovery console like above and...
Type "chkdsk /r" then enter
When done type "exit" and hit enter.
This will take longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

ho risolto lo stesso problema con fixboot come consigliato...
quello che vorrei capire è :

a me è capitato questo: mentre usavo normalmente il pc il mio nuovo hd maxtor 120g 8cache ide ha "gracchiato" dopodichè si è frizzato il pc. al chè reboot ma sempre schermatona blu con l'errore precedentemente enunciato....

colpa di winzozzone o del maxtor?
magari voi sapete perchè si puo creare un problema del genere...

Direi colpa di winzozzone.
In XP il file Boot.ini viene messo +ke altro x ragioni di compatibilità Dos.
Esso nn viene "protetto" come nei S.O. di tipo win9.x, ma se poi gli capita qualcosa (va a sapere tu il xké...) ekko ke escono fuori errori simili.
X me l'HD maxtor è al 95% innocente.

Ho avuto dei casi simili su portatili. In primis il problema mi era stato dato da spegnimenti improvvisi (problemi con la batteria del portatile), ma poi è stato necessario cambiare il disco.

Io ti consiglio un bel backup di tutti i dati importanti.... e incrocia le dita. Magari non succede niente... magari tra qualche gg non ti parte piu il picci.

Salva finchè sei in tempo.

Io ho avuto a fine agosto un segnale del genere (non partiva piu il picci, un errore anomalo su disco), poi una volta sistemato ho fatto l'errore di sottovalutare quel caso e non fare backup.... risultato: Bestemmie una settimana dopo x la rottura del HD... e backup risalente a marzo.... :(

Ah.. potrebbe essere anche qualche viruz...
