ho dei problemi con il mio secondo hd. un Maxtor 6Y060L0 60GB ATA133 1 partizione hdh1 con reiserfs. il mount è mostruosamente lento (20 secondi) e quando navigo per le cartelle è leeeeento.
per il resto nessun problema nessun file corrotto, quando sposto file da un hd all'altro ho una media di 15/20Mb al sec e mai nessun problema.

quale puo essere la causa ???

facendo dmesg ho notato questi messaggi sono piuttosto ricorrenti quando uso l'hd:

L'hd sta morendo. Fai un backup in fretta.

sicuro ??? non dovrei avere problemi con errori di parità, dati corrotti, ecc. ecc. ??

cmq accetto il consiglio e incomincio il backup mi scociierebbe perdere 52gb di robina su un hd di neanche 2 mesi :(

ahi ahi, l'ultima volta che ho visto questi messaggi di errore è stata l'ultima volta che l'hd mi ha funzionato :( ora non per tirartela ma fai un backup in fretta

generalmente i produttori mettono a disposizione qualche software per testare lo stato del disco (ibm di sicuro, probabilmente anche maxtor); prova a guardare sul sito

Attiva lo S.M.A.R.T. nel bios e guarda che ti dice :)

anche a me un disco (un maxtor da 40gb che ora funge da fermacarte) faceva le stesse cose e poi è morto.

Dai, poteva andar peggio.
Windows non ti avrebbe mai stampato quei messaggi, e tu non avresti saputo in anticipo che l'hd sarebbe morto, fino al giorno del "verdetto".
