Plextor Japan announced today a new SCSI recorder with the codename "PX-W4012TS". It supports 40X writing, 12X re-writing, 40X reading, 4MB buffer, BURN-Proof, Mt. Rainier (and EasyWrite) and of course Ultra SCSI (SCSI-3) interface!...

Non sono la persona più indicata per spiegartelo, non ho mai avuto nulla come periferiche SCSI. Comunque le faccine di stupore sono doverose in quanto Plextor qualche anno fa annunciò che non avrebbe più prodotto periferiche SCSI. Si sono clamorosamente smentiti. Cosa c'è dietro? :confused: :confused:

Secondo me dietro c'è un progetto economico ben preciso da parte di un'azienda seria e competente: semplicemente hanno deciso che il mercato SCSI secondo loro non era più ben coperto dal 12X, e introdurranno questa nuova versione 40X: hanno atteso così tanto perché il mercato SCSI è diverso, l'hardware ce l'hanno già dal modello EIDE (a meno che non abbiano cambiato qualcosa, ma dubito) e inoltre hanno optato per il 40X, in modo da non farsi concorrenza da soli (col 48X EIDE).
