Che ho provato ed osservato almeno partire:


Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
DOOM (forzando Vulcan con il flag di avvio "+r_renderAPI 1")
Environmental Station Alpha
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
Nier:Automata
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Con configurazione in firma, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed e Mesa 18.1.5 / driver AMD open source.

Ne ho provati diversi altri, ma molti non partono proprio. Alcuni partono ma vanno in crash o terminano con un errore.

Questi ad esempio necessitano di Mesa 18.2+ per funzionare correttamente:

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
Wolfenstein: The New Order
DOOM (In modalità OpenGL)


(Mesa è l'implementazione open source delle librerie OpenGL).

sono tentato di provare la beta per vedere se la metà che mi manca della libreria va.
però ho un pc scrauso :D (c2d e6600, 4gb ram, gtx 660, antergos)

dalla lista sembra mi rimangano fuori:
Darksiders
Darksiders warmaster edition
Darksiders II
Warhammer 40000: space marine (che a quanto pare nessuno ha provato)

mentre dovrebbero andare:
Borderlands goty
Darksiders II deathinitive edition
Deus Ex: human revolution director's cut (quella normale+missing link credo anche)
Torchlight

il resto della mia libreria gira anche su linux.

ho provato velocemente con torchlight (quello più leggero da scaricare).
parte, mi chiede che save usare (steamcloud o local), si sento gli effetti sonori per un attimo e si chiude senza arrivare alla schermata principale.
ok sono sfortunato.

aspetto la versione stabile e vedo se aggiungeranno i giochi che ho in lista.

Non ho molti giochi windows nella libreria, ma questi li ho provati e funzionano perfettamente senza nessun problema:
Monkey Island I & II Special Edition
Galactic Civilization II Ultimate Edition

Nulla di nuovo comunque, sono giochi che avevo già giocato utilizzando wine anni fà.
Ora però è indubbiamente più comodo :D

Non so se è una buona idea usare SteamOS con la tua scheda video, dato che il kernel incluso è abbastanza datato come anche la versione di mesa.
I progressi fatti ultimamente dal driver opensource di AMD sono notevoli, ti consiglio di installare qualcosa di più recente in attesa di SteamOS 3.0 :cool:
Io uso ArchLinux in modo da avere sempre il sistema aggiornato, ma se non hai voglia/tempo di configurare tutto vai di ubuntu che non sbagli mai.
Alla fine ho creato una sessione di login che avvia Steam in modalità big picture e non ho problemi.

Qualsiasi va bene, ma il Kernel e lo stack dei driver video devono essere piuttosto aggiornati. Viene generalmente consigliata una delle ultime versioni di Ubuntu perché è facile con essa aggiungere repository che installano tutto il necessario automaticamente.

Io sto usando openSUSE Tumbleweed (distribuzione rolling), con kernel 4.18, Mesa 18.1.6 e LLVM 6.0.1 e per avere la piena compatibilità non è ancora sufficiente.

Non mi sembra che SteamOS sia consigliata al momento.

Qualsiasi va bene, ma il Kernel e lo stack dei driver video devono essere piuttosto aggiornati.

Questo è vero in particolare se si possiede una scheda video AMD, ma con schede NVidia non credo sia neccessario visto che il driver non è opensource. In quel caso basta installare l'ultima versione del driver proprietario.

Nel frattempo sto installando Life is Strange: Before the Storm :sofico:

Sì stavo aspettando il porting da un po'.. ma perchè aspettare? C'è pure lo sconto ora :D
Comunque l'ho provato aggiungendo PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% alle opzioni di avvio e funziona egregiamente.
L'unico difetto riscontrato è che non sono riuscito a usare lo Steam Controller, ma magari si tratta di smanettare un pò con la configurazione.

Torchlight è un gioco DX9 giusto? Potresti provare ad aggiungere questa opzione all'avvio: PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%

Infatti è strano perchè le dx9 sono abbastanza stabili con wine.

Nel frattempo ho provato la demo di Redout e dopo un pò di smadonnamenti sono riuscito a farlo funzionare (il driver vulkan non era aggiornato).
Ora sto installando il gioco completo :cool:

Con le AMD Radeon è possibile che qualche titolo OpenGL (come ad esempio i precedenti Wolfenstein) funzioni meglio su Linux con i driver open source che su Windows con quelli closed, ma per potere verificare questo servono le ultime versioni di Mesa e LLVM, che non ho installato nel mio sistema (openSUSE Tumbleweed).

Quelli nella lista funzionano visto che garantisce Valve.
Per il resto, a giudicare dal link postato prima da s12a, funzionano bene senza problemi circa 1/3 dei giochi (la lista non è ancora completa).
Se ci si accontenta di qualche difettuccio la percentuale sale al 58% :cool:

per sicurezza ho provato anche con la beta e con lutris, ma niet.
non ho idea di quale sia il problema... :confused:

Secondo me il problema potrebbe essere il tuo processore. Un core 2 duo potrebbe essere troppo poco contanto che utilizzando wine un minimo di overhead c'è.
Non hai la possibilità di provare su un pc più performante?

di altro ho un athlon 64 4000+ ed un pentium 2 :D

però alla faccia dell'hoverhead... ho provato torchlight mica l'ultimo macigno appena uscito :eek:
io stavo pensando alla scheda audio theatron agrippa (chipset cmi87xx) però funziona con gli altri giochi e pure col resto, oppure al fatto che su torchlight ho caricato dei mods.

adesso sto scaricando borderlands, se parte spacco qualcosa.

ho dovuto copiare e rinominare un file nella cartella binaries come da lista e va con e senza parametri con proton 3.7-4 beta. (provo anche con quello normale giusto per vedere)
Purtroppo mi sembra un po' più lento (mi ricordo che ho modificato qualcosa in un file su windows ma non ricordo cosa ne dove) però parte :sofico:

In effetti ho visto i requisiti di sistema e dice 800Mhz minimo :eekk: per cui non dovrebbe essere quello il problema.

secondo la lista che funzionano ci sono deus ex human revolution director's cut e darksiders 2 deathinitive edition

ho il dual-boot non mi preoccupo, è curiosità pura per un'opzione in più che può tornare buona in futuro.
venisse la voglia di rigiocare qualcosa, 3 partizioni in meno (windows, quella che crea windows, giochi) :cool:

visto che valve ha piazzato steam play direttamente anche nel client standard ho fatto seratona prove.

torchlight è finalmente partito, probabilmente qualche problema col case sensistive sul nome di qualche files.
ci ho messo un po' a capire dove metterli.

darksiders 2 deathinitive edition è partito con PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% , ma mi dava qualche problemino.
mi sono accorto dopo che qualcuno ha aggiunto -gl nelle opzioni di avvio, riproverò.

come sicuramente partente mi manca deus ex: human revolution director's cut.

chiariamo sempre che quelli che sto provando non sono in whitelist.

A quanto pare la lista di segnalazioni era diventata troppo lunga per essere gestita in google docs (in effetti fa un po' pena) e quindi è stato migrato il tutto su un nuovo sito: https://spcr.netlify.com
Io nel frattempo ho provato anche The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt e anche quello funziona abbastanza bene. Ho avuto qualche freeze sporadico durante alcune cutscene, ma ricordo che per giocare uso la grafica integrata di un Ryzen 5 2400G quindi direi che sono più che soddisfatto :p

mi sa che la tua integrata va più della mia gtx660 :D

comunque i miei test (sia con la versione base che con le beta di proton) mi hanno portato a:
-torchlight probabilmente era un problema di case sensitive, cancellato e rifatto la configurazione è andato con i miei saves con mod annessi

-deus ex human revolution director's cut: parte con un po' di stuttering mi sembra, si risolve agendo su due o tre cossette come per la versione windows.
idem per la versione liscia + missing link

-borderlands goty va più lento ma potrebbe essere questione di prestazioni della mia macchina

-darksiders in teoria parte ma non ci sono i video ne l'interfaccia

-darksiders II crasha dopo i loghi

-darksiders warmastered edition non parte

-darksiders II deathinitive edition parte solo se entro nella beta pubblica, metto PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% nelle opzioni di avvia.
non funziona il controllo della gamma ed ho dei flash nel cielo, per il resto posso metterlo anche tutto a manetta a 1920x1080

-warhammer 40000: space marine crasha inesorabilmente all'avvio

Non ho usato protontricks https://github.com/Sirmentio/protontricks

Ora non so se farmi un account github per riportarlo, ma più utile di così io non so essere.

Interessa ancora a qualcuno SteamPlay? :confused:
Io nel frattempo ero impegnato a finire The Witcher 3, ce l'ho fatta in soli 5 mesi :sofico:
L'esperienza di gioco era già buona appena è uscito proton, ma è migliorata molto strada facendo con gli aggiornamenti lato driver e proton (ora 3.16-7). Ho potuto aggiungere dettagli grafici senza intaccare il framerate. Con gli ultimi driver funziona anche l'effetto HairWorks.
A giudicare dalle statistiche raccolte qui https://www.protondb.com/
Dei giochi che non sono nativi circa il 50% risulta "giocabile" su linux, mentre solo il 33% funziona perfettamente (dopo eventuali tweaks).
I dati si riferiscono solo ai 1000 giochi più giocati, ma le statistiche aumentano se guardiamo il totale https://www.protondb.com/stats (75% giocabili)
Mi sembra un risultato notevole

mi sono accorto adesso che c'era un nuovo messaggio... :doh:
comunque dalla mia lista sono rimasto così (non ho testato tutto con proton 4.2):

Torchlight funziona
Deus Ex Human revolution funziona
Borderlands Goty funziona
Warhammer 40,000 space marine funziona con exe alternativo :rolleyes: (sembra sia un problema di drm di valve)
Darksiders Warmastered edition funziona ma senza filmati
Darksiders liscio non c'è interfaccia ne video
Darksiders II Deathinitive edition funziona con tweak ma devo lasciare la risoluzione nativa od impostarne una diversa da quella del monitor altrimenti mi si glitcha un po' il cielo
Darksiders II liscio crasha dopo i titoli
Borderlands Goty enhanched parte ma bisogna fare un giochino coi nomi e mi crasha in momenti random la maggior parte delle volte coi teletrasporti

Brutal legend, Torchlight II, Dawn of war 2, xcom enemy unknown hanno una versione linux quindi non li ho testati.

i giochi scatolati o di gog non li ho testati perché non so se usare lutris o game hub e non so come cavolo usarli. :muro:

volevo provare fsr con proton-GE-6.14, ma non mi parte niente.
ho provato col gioco più veloce da scaricare nella mia libreria, allego nel tag code sotto.
