Total War è morto

Ma come fate a scrivere un articolo del genere senza leggere quanto hanno dichiarato gli stessi sviluppatori contemporaneamente all'annuncio?

È chiarissimo che tipo di gioco sarà:

"Total War Sagas offer the same additive mix of turn-based campaign strategy, real-time battle tactics with hundreds if not thousands of hours of gameplay as a regular Total War game, just focussed down on a distinct moment.

They will be concentrated games which will put you right in the middle of a dynamic point in history, where the outcome could have gone in a huge number of different directions. Such moments also tend to be constrained to a tight geographic area as well.

Sagas won’t introduce brand-new eras; they’ll follow-on from previous Total War games and inhabit the same time-period, or at the very least relate to it.

Fall of the Samurai is exactly the kind of thing we’re talking about here. It was a standalone spin-off from Total War: SHOGUN 2, focussed on the pivotal event of the Boshin War.

Questo è quello che avevano promesso :

Questo è quello che avevano promesso :
"Yes, it's a brand new era. It's not something we've done before."
Quello era riferito al prossimo titolo "nuovo" (Era)
I Saga saranno espansioni stand alone dei giochi principali (Era, appunto), creati non dal team principale ma da quello di Jack Lusted (ed ecco qui Thrones of Britannia), poi un altro team rilascierà invece minicampagne (DLC) per gli Era, ad esempio Empire Divided, annunciato pochi giorni fa per RomeII
In pratica:
Team 1: gioco principale (periodo storico mai affrontato prima)
Team 2: espansioni (brevi periodi storici ma di notevole importanza, possono anche essere stati già trattati in precedenza)
Team 3: dlc (dicevano incentrato su un personaggio storico, ed in effetti Empire Divided ha come protagonista Aureliano)
