VPN....HowTo e consigli

mi servirebbero un po' di info e molti consigli su come mettere in piedi una VPN usando un RH kernel 2.4 come server.

Dai un'occhiata qua http://www.poptop.org/ io lo avevo usato per un esperimento di vpn linux -> nt4 un paio di anni fa e ha funzionato senza problemi in un attimo.

se la vpn e' solo fra servers linux ti consiglio vtun, semplice da configurare e abbastanza solido.

la VPN deve permettere a client Win e Mac di accedere ad un dominio NT , la macchina che ospita il server VPN e' una macchina linux che attualmente svolge le funzioni di Firewall

Allora con poptop non dovresti avere problemi, almeno per win...

Leggendo le FAQ ho avuto una brutta sorpresa per quanto riguarda i Mac e considerando che piu' della meta' dei client previsto sono Mac .....

A. Here are some reasons I can think of:

The difference between PoPToP and IPsec is that PoPToP is ready NOW.. and requires *no* third party software on the Windows client end (Windows comes with a free PPTP client that is trivial to set up).

PoPToP is a completely *free* solution. Update: Unfortunately not true for Mac *clients* though. The Mac client software is around $400 US a copy.

PoPToP can be integrated with the latest PPPD patches that take advantage of MSCHAPv2 and MPPE (Microsoft encryption using RC4 - 40/128 bits).
