Upgrade ram su motherboard Intel

Ciao a tutti, avevo intenzione di installare più memoria ram su un pc con scheda madre Intel dq965co e due giorni fa ho approfittato di un'offerta acquistando a prezzo scontato un kit da 4GB (2x2) Kingston (modello KTH-XW9400LPK2/4G).
Oggi ho montato i nuovi banchi sulla motherboard (sostituendo un vecchio kit da 1GB 2x512MB) ma all'accensione non veniva mostrato nulla a schermo e la scheda madre emetteva continuamente dei bip. Ho provato a levare uno dei nuovi banchi senza esito, alla fine ho reinserito nei due slot vuoti il vecchio kit e il pc è ripartito anche se Windows rileva sempre e solo 1GB (ignorando i 4GB aggiunti).

A cosa può essere dovuto il problema? Ho sbagliato ad acquistare quel modello di ram?

Quasi sicuramente la memoria che hai acquistato non è compatibile con la scheda madre .
Dalle specifiche che puoi leggere sotto ( tratte dal manuale ) la scheda madre supporta solo alcuni tipi di memoria .

• 1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
• Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction:

• 8 GB maximum total system memory using DDR2 667 or DDR2 533 DIMMs;
4 GB maximum total system memory using DDR2 800 DIMMs. Refer to
Section 2.1.1 on page 49 for information on the total amount of addressable
memory.

Può essere dovuto al fatto che sono memorie ECC (invece che non-ECC)?
è l'unico requisito che non viene soddisfatto a quanto vedo!

Si e possibile che sia proprio quello il problema . Comunque oltre alle caratteristiche da rispettare , ci sarebbe da rispettare anche la compatibilita tra ram e scheda madre . Di solito c' è una tabella nel manuale che indica quali ram sono effettivamente compatibili , nel tuo caso non e stata messa , quindi e piu difficile capire se ci sono ram compatibili al 100% .
